Extratime.com staff predictions - First Division 2022

The People’s League, the greatest second tier in the world…the First Division is back, with the campaign kicking off on Friday night.

The extratime.com team have once again put together our predictions for how the First Division will end up this season.

Last year we incorrectly predicted that Galway United would win the division with Shelbourne pipping the Tribesmen to the title and claiming their second First Division title in three years.

We did get the playoff teams…mostly right with Bray Wanderers and UCD making it, Treaty United also made it and the least said about our bottom of the table prediction for the Limerick side the better.

This year we have Waterford as favourites to win the division and return to the Premier Division having been relegated in 2021.

Galway United, Cork City, Bray Wanderers and Longford Town have been predicted to make the playoffs in 2022 with Treaty United just missing out in our predictions.
