Wexford Youths have announced the re-signing of Republic of Ireland international Ellen Molloy ahead of the 2022 Women’s National League season.

The midfielder scored 13 times for Youths this season as Wexford finished in third place in the WNL, including her four goals scored in a 7-1 win over Treaty United in April last year.

She was named Player of the Match in the FAI Cup Final, helping Wexford to a win over Shelbourne in Tallaght Stadium last November.

Molloy made her debut for the club in 2020 and she claimed the WNL Young Player of the Year award for 2020 as well as being nominated for the award again in 2021 – only to be pipped to the win by teammate Aoibheann Clancy.

She made her debut for the Republic of Ireland in 2020 against Ukraine.

Wexford Youths begin their WNL season away to Athlone Town on Saturday, 5 March (kick-off 7pm).
