Shelbourne have announced the signing of Sean McSweeney from Treaty United ahead of the 2022 League of Ireland Premier Division season.

The striker scored six times last season as Treaty United finished fourth in the First Division.

“I’m delighted to join Shels and get the move over the line,” McSweeney said, speaking to the club’s website.

“We’ve a very good squad and it’s filled with exciting and hungry young players.

“We’re extremely eager to do well and work with the coaching staff who have been brilliant in talking to them. I want to bring goals and assists and help the team in any way I can.”

The 24 year old began his career with his hometown club Limerick, he has had spells with Crumlin United and Fairview Rangers before linking up with Treaty United for their inaugural season in the League of Ireland.
