Athlone Town have announced the re-signing of Leah Brady ahead of the 2022 Women’s National League season.

Brady started Athlone Town’s first eight games of the 2021 season before suffering a season ending injury in their 3-2 loss to Bohemians in May.

The defender began her career with Galway WFC in 2018 but departed ahead of the 2020 season with limited first team opportunities for the Cavan native at Eamonn Deacy Park.

She signed for Athlone Town for their inaugural season in the WNL in 2020 and established herself as a key member of Tommy Hewitt’s squad.

The Town begin their WNL campaign at home to Wexford Youths on Saturday, 5 March.
