Galway United provided their fans with a present of a new striker as they announced the signing of former Drogheda United frontman Jordan Adeyemo on Christmas Day.

The pacy attacker began his career in the Shelbourne Academy before moving to the Boynesiders where he scored in a prolific manner for their Under 19s. His ability to find the net saw him promoted to the first team where he was a member of Tim Clancy's First Division title winning squad in 2020 before contributing to five goals in twenty Premier Division games last season.

Adeyemo's pace was utilised on both flanks as well as centrally for the Boynesiders and speaking with his new club's media, he was looking forward to the challenge of playing in a full time capacity at a club with the stature of the Tribesmen.

"I feel like it’s a big opportunity, and it’s an opportunity I have to take, like it’s full time football and that’s something that I’ve always wanted to do aswell.“

"From looking at it, I think that Galway are a big club and obviously they finished second last year, just cut short through the playoff game against Bray… So they were unlucky not to get promoted. This season I think it’s a great opportunity for them to do well and possibly get themselves back up to the Premier Division.”
