St. Pats have bolstered their striker department for the 2022 season with the signing of Tunde Owolabi.

The 26-year-old Belgian native scored ten goals for Finn Harps last season, including a hat trick against the Athletic.

He began his career with FC United of Manchester in 2014, scoring 35 goals in the 2019/20 season before moved to the Scottish Premier League side Hamilton in the summer of 2020, turning out nine times for the Accies before arriving at Finn Park for the 2021 campaign.

Speaking with stpatsfc.com, Pat's manager Tim Clancy was full of enthusiasm with his new arrival.

"We are very happy to welcome Tunde,” said Clancy. “He has unbelievable pace and will be a very good acquisition for the club. He scored 10 goals last season for Finn Harps and was a threat every time I watched him or managed against him.

“He'll bring something different to the team, he is willing to play on the shoulder and run in behind but is also a very good finisher. He'll improve the team and the squad and we are looking forward to working with him."

Owolabi was equally positive about his arrival at Richmond Park. "To say that I'm absolutely delighted and happy to have signed would be an understatement. It's a massive club. St. Pat's had a very good season in 2021 and we want to kick on now.

“From speaking to Tim Clancy and Alan Mathews, I want to be a part of that. I can't wait to get started.

“I want to continue to score goals, improve myself and help the team, I'm very happy to be a St Pat's player."

On twitter he noted “I have loved and enjoyed my time at the club (Finn Harps) and the affection shown to me especially from the fans was truly something special. I just want to thank everyone associated with the club for giving me the platform to play and enjoy my football again.”
