Galway United have announced a fourth signing this week with David Hurley securing a new deal which will keep him at the club for the 2022 season.

The midfielder scored twice this season as Galway United secured a second place finish in the First Division, their highest position since relegation in 2017.

One of those goals was a 95th minute injury time screamer against Wexford in May.

“I’m delighted, last season ended on a bit of a sour note as you know, so we feel like we’ve got more to give, especially with the squad coming together this year we will be pushing on further to get into the premier division as that’s the goal at the end of the day,” Hurley said, speaking to the club’s website.

“The fans are brilliant, they make such a difference, the buzz you feel and you feed off that, it’s something we’ll definitely build off next year and keep the buzz going for 2022.”

Hurley began his career with Cobh Ramblers where he made 82 appearances over four seasons.
