DLR Waves have announced a further two re-signings with Jessica Gleeson and Carla McManus but secured for the 2022 Women’s National League season.

Gleeson continued to show why she is one of the top defenders in the WNL this season with the 28 year old almost ever present for Waves in 2021 with consistently solid performances each week.

The Republic of Ireland international is one of the most experienced players at manager Graham Kelly’s disposal, the defender has been in the WNL for ten years having previously played for Wexford Youths and Shelbourne.

Gleeson was with Wexford Youths during a very successful period for the club which saw them win three WNL titles, in 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2017 and an FAI CUP in 2015 before her departure in 2017.

McManus had her breakout year in the WNL this season for the South Dublin side with the 21 year old bagging seven goals for herself during the league campaign.

The former Republic of Ireland underage international has previously played for Kilkenny United in the WNL and arrived at Waves in 2020.
