Goalkeeper Maja Zajc has signed with top-flight side Radomlje in her native Slovenia after parting company with Galway.

The Slovenia international has signed a deal with the side who finished fourth in the seven-team league last season.

22-year-old Zajc has spent the past year outside of her home country, having spent time with Lithuania giants Gintras before making the move to Galway at the beginning of 2021.

Pharmaceutical student Zajc made ten appearances for the Tribeswomen, keeping once clean sheet in the process.

"Last season abroad is definitely a very positive experience for me. I think I grew up as a player and as a person," she told Radomlje's official website.

"The decision was influenced by several factors. The main one is that I wanted a new challenge and because I think the team has a lot of potential.

She added: "The short-term goal is as soon as possible to fit into the team and the pace of work, which is already looking forward.

"I believe that, with good team performances, we can finish in the top three. Given that we have two new clubs in the league, I expect a very interesting season.

"Many clubs have also strengthened, so I think we can expect a tense competition for the top of the table."
