ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC

St Patrick’s Athletic will be hoping that they can get their fledgling title charge back on track as they welcome Longford Town to Richmond Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Saints came through their FAI Cup clash against Cork City last weekend, and they will be hoping that they can get back on track in the league.

But they will have to do it without a number of first-team regulars who miss out.

Lee Desmond, Sam Bone, Robbie Benson and Adam Murphy all miss out through injury.

Viteslav Jaros also misses out through international duty with the Czech Republic under-21 side.

“There will be no complacency, definitely not,” Athletic boss Stephen O’Donnell said.

“I think Longford were unlucky in a couple of games, even a couple of weeks ago, obviously they were done in the last kick of the game against Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght.

“In a lot of games, they have been very competitive and created a lot of chances and have just found it hard to go and win those games when they are in the melting pot.

“But they have dangerous players and there will be no complacency on our side and that's for sure.”

The odds for the match have St Patrick’s Athletic as heavy favourites, so you might be better placed visiting an online casino than betting on Longford Town.

LONGFORD TOWN

Premier Division strugglers Longford Town will be looking for their first league win since March as they take on St Patrick’s Athletic at Richmond Park.

Town were dumped out of the FAI Cup last time out against UCD, turning in a limp display against the First Division’s form side.

Dean Williams scored his second league goal in as many weeks turning home a Rob Manley cross into the box.

But Town are likely to be without Manley this weekend as he is rated as a doubt for the game.

And he is not the only potential absentee this weekend as Karl Chambers, Dean Byrne, Shane Elworthy and Mick McDonnell are also doubts.

They do, however, have no suspension worries to contend with.
