League Preview: Cabinteely -v- Cork City

CABINTEELY

Cabinteely will be looking to return to winning ways on Friday night as they host Cork City at Stradbrook on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Green and White’s fell to defeat last weekend against Wexford, and their boss Pat Devlin is hoping that his side can get a reaction against the Leesiders.

“It’s been a mixed bag for us in the last couple of games against Treaty and Wexford. Overall, our performances have been very good.

“Hopefully, we can carry that in the game against Cork, because they are a very good side.”

He continued: “It’s going to be very tough. They beat Cobh 4-1 last week. You can’t take anything for granted.

“We will be giving them all the respect that they deserve. But we will be doing our best to win the game.”

Sean McDonald and Adam Hayden miss out with injuries.

CORK CITY

Riding the crest of a wave, Cork City head into this weekend’s clash against Cabinteely with a renewed sense of vigour.

The Leesiders are in good form, and could, potentially, sneak their way back into the playoff positions should results keep going their way.

But their manager Colin Healy is hoping that they can learn from past mistakes against Cabo this season ahead of Friday’s game.

“It was a poor performance against them in Turner’s Cross. I didn’t think we were at it, as a team. We’re a different team now – the lads look stronger & fitter.

“Confidence is up, so hopefully we can go and get the three points on Friday night.

“We’re looking at Friday night’s match, and we’re focusing on that. We need to get three points, and then take it from there.

“We’re nine points off the play-off places, so it’s going to be very difficult, but the most important thing is that we go up to Cabinteely and come back with three points on Friday night.”

Referee: David Connolly.
