First Division Cobh Ramblers have confirmed that they have parted ways with first-team boss Stuart Ashton and his management team.

Ashton has been relieved of his duties following the Rams 1-0 win over Cabinteely last time out at St Colman’s Park.

Conor Drinan netted a late winner for Cobh on that occasion.

This was his second stint managing the club, having done so before during the mid-1990s.

He was also assistant manager under former boss Stephen Henderson after re-joining the club in 2017.

“As a club we are sincerely thankful for the time and commitment Stu, Declan, and James have given to Cobh Ramblers,” Cobh chairman Bill O’Leary said.

“These decisions are never easy to make, and we didn't take this decision lightly.

“That said, as a board, we have to act in a manner that is at all times in the best interests of the club.

“We wish Stu and his team the very best in their next ventures.”

The club also confirmed a successor to Ashton will be appointed in the coming days.
