ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC

St Patrick’s Athletic will be eyeing their second league win in a row when they welcome Drogheda United to Richmond Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Athletic won 1-0 last time out against Derry City despite playing the last half-hour with ten-men.

Despite a good result last week, Saints boss Stephen O’Donnell is expecting a tough encounter against Drogheda.

"Tim Clancy is doing a great job up there. He's got a new two year deal along with Kevin Doherty and rightly so.

“They are doing an excellent job there, and we are under no illusions, it's going to be a very tough game.

“Drogheda are going very well. They drew with Longford and in their last away game they drew with Shamrock Rovers and then in-between that, they beat Finn Harps 3-1 after a goal down.

“So, we know they have players that can hurt us at the top end of the pitch and like last Friday, we need to apply ourselves to the upmost to get anything from the game."

DROGHEDA UNITED

After being held to a 1-1 draw with Longford Town last week, Drogheda United take on St Patrick’s Athletic at Richmond Park on Friday evening.

Chris Lyons gave the Drogs a 1-0 lead before they were pegged back by Dylan Grimes’ equaliser in the last 15 minutes of the game.

The result extended their unbeaten streak against Longford Town, and they have now not lost in four against the Red and Black.

But they, however, know that a sterner test awaits them on Friday night away to St Pat’s in Inchicore.

They will be forced to make do without Brandon Bermingham for Friday’s game with the ex-Bohs star out with an injury.

Referee: Derek Tomney.
