WEXFORD YOUTHS

Youths will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Women’s National League when they host Treaty Untied at Ferrycarrig park on Saturday (kick-off 6.30pm).

Wexford have kept up the pressure on the top two in the race for the 2021 WNL title and they sit just four points behind Paramount United and Shelbourne.

They claimed their first win in three games last weekend with a 3-1 win over DLR Waves at home in Ferrycarrig.

Lynn Marie-Grant and Orlaith Conlon put the home side in front going late into the game before Waves’ Carla McManus halved the deficit in the 80th minute.

The contest ended minutes later when Niamh Barnes put the ball into her own net to give Youths their sixth win of the season.

TREATY UNITED

Treaty United have gone two games unbeaten and they are currently in their richest vein of form with two wins from their last four games.

Niall Connolly’s side have certainly improved since the start of the season and they will be looking to give a better account of themselves on Saturday having lost 7-1 to Wexford earlier this season.

Last weekend, the Limerick side batted hard to claim a 2-2 draw with Athlone Town at Jackman Park.

Aoife Cronin put the home side in front in the first half before Athlone Town netted twice without reply to go in front of the Limerick side.

The home side claimed their equalizer late in the second half when Aoife Cronin netted her second of the game after a great through ball by Esra Kangal.

MATCH STATS

Wexford Youths are on a nine game unbeaten run in the Women’s National League.
