CORK CITY

Paul Farrell will be looking for his side to claim their first win this season when they host Bohemians at Turners Cross on Saturday (kick-off 2pm).

It’s been a tough campaign for the Rebels so far with the side losing all nine of their games before the mid-season break, leaving them bottom of the WNL table.

In their first game back after the break they faced the formidable Shelbourne and an improved Cork City lost by just a single goal at Tolka Park last weekend.

It took a wonder strike from Noelle Murray to separate the sides in Dublin, and while it won’t provide too  much comfort to Cork City, if the can take the positives from that performance into this Saturday they could claim their first points of 2021.

BOHEMIANS

Sean Byrne’s side have already claimed more points this season than in their inaugural campaign 2020 and they will be eyeing up more points when they face an out of form Cork City this weekend.

Their last game before the mid-season break saw the side suffer a disappointing loss to Treaty United but they showed their determination at Dalymount Park last weekend when they hosted Galway.

Sinead Donovan struck a wonderful goal in the first half for the Tribeswomen to put the Gypsies on the back foot.

Chloe Darby netted a free-kick late in the second half to claim a point for the home side with her fourth goal of the 2021 campaign.

MATCH STATS

Cork City are without a win with the Rebels playing ten games so far this WNL campaign.

When the sides met earlier this season they played out a 3-3 draw in Dublin.

Cork City beat Bohemians both times the clubs faced each other last year, once in the WNL and a second time in the FAI Women’s Cup.
