On loan Preston North End midfielder Adam O’Reilly has confirmed that he is to leave Waterford after his loan at the RSC.

O’Reilly established himself as a key member of the Blues’ first-team squad after joining the South-East outfit prior to the start of the 2021 season.

The midfielder is the son of 2007 First Division winner Kieran O’Reilly who won the second-tier with Cobh Ramblers.

While at the RSC, O’Reilly made 16 appearances for the club – leaving with the club in 9th position.

“I’d like to thank everyone at Waterford from the players to the staff and the fans,” O’Reilly said on twitter last night.

“I know we had a bumpy start but I always felt like things would change for the good as we had an unbelievable bunch.”

He added: “The lads are in great hands with new gaffer. I wish him and all the lads the best of luck for the rest of the season as I’ll be keeping a close eye.

“There’s no question that Waterford deserve to play in the Premier Division.”
