BOHEMIANS

Bohemians could move up to fifth should they take all three points from Saturday afternoon’s encounter with Galway at Dalymount Park (kick-off 2pm).

Sean Byrne’s side seek their third win of the season so far as they return from the break with a tie at the home of Irish football, their first in Dalymount this season.

A last-minute goal from Anna Shanagher saw the Gypsies leave without a point from Market’s Field before the break as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Treaty United.

Jenna Slattery had given Treaty the lead from the spot but Bohs looked to have nicked a draw thanks to Abbie Brophy’s late strike.

Bohs also tasted defeat when they played Galway earlier in the season, goals from Rachel Kearns, Kate Slevin and Lynsey McKey seeing the home side to a 3-1 win.

“When we played Galway last it was probably one of our worst performances,” Bohs midfielder Chloe Darby, who scored Bohs’ consolation that day, told the club’s media team.

“They are a very good team, but we have the match to look back on now to look back on and see how we can improve.

“It’s really exciting [to play at Dalymount], especially now we have the fans back. Everyone wants to play at Dalymount.”

GALWAY

Galway will aim to get their stuttering season going again as they begin the second half of the season with a trip to Dalymount Park.

The Tribeswomen started the season well but a difficult period, coinciding with the departure of manager Billy Clery, saw them drop down the table.

New manager Stephen Lally has wasted little time in recruiting, with former captain Meabh de Burca, Ireland international Julie-Ann Russell and Becky Walsh all arriving.

The loss of top scorer Kearns, first to injury and then to GAA, will make things more difficult for Lally as he looks to turn around the club’s fortunes.
