Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy has been included as one of the ten Irish players included in the Premier League released list.

The Scottish-born midfielder has been included on the list alongside fellow experienced Irish international Robbie Brady who leaves Burnley.

Eunan O’Kane has also been confirmed as one of the ten after his departure from Leeds United.

Kian Flanagan and experienced goalkeeper Stephen Henderson have also both left Palace, while Jack Clarke has parted ways with Aston Villa.

Clarke is Birmingham born and has previously been included in Republic of Ireland under-21 squads, while 21-year-old London born Flanagan is a previous Irish under-17, 18 and under-19 international.

Southampton pair Kameron Ledwidge and Thomas O’Connor have also left St Mary’s.

20-year-old Ledwidge is formerly of St Kevin’s Boys and has played for the Republic of Ireland at under-17 and under-19 level.

He played in the 2018 under-17 European Championship’s for the Boys in Green that saw them controversially knocked out by the Dutch in a penalty shootout.

Kilkenny native O’Connor leaves the Saints having never played a senior competitive game for the club – but he did enjoy a fruitful loan spell at Gillingham where he made 62 senior league appearances in two successive seasons.

Former Wexford and Shamrock Rovers defender Darragh O’Connor has also left FA Cup holders Leicester City.

The Co. Wexford native joined Leicester in August 2019 and featured for their under-23 side before his contract ran out this season.

And recently relegated Premier League side West Bromwich Albion have parted ways with Andrew Lonergan.

Lonergan played for the Boys in Green at under-16 before then playing for England at under-20 level.
