Athlone Town have confirmed that Leah Brady has suffered a season ending injury.

Brady pulled up during Athlone Town’s 3-2 loss to Bohemians on Saturday, 29 May with the defender needing to be stretchered off in the 35th minute because of the injury.

The centre-back signed for Athlone Town ahead of their inaugural season in the Women’s National League and she has been an important part of Tommy Hewitt’s squad having started all of the Town’s games this season.

The Republic of Ireland Under 19 international began her career with Galway WFC along with her sister Kayla, who also plays for Athlone Town currently.

Athlone Town are back in action in the WNL on Saturday when they travel to Tolka Park to face Shelbourne (kick-off 2pm).
