WEXFORD

Winless Wexford welcome Bray Wanderers to Ferrycarrig Park with a renewed sense of hope following the appointment of Ian Ryan as their new boss (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

Ryan was formerly Andy Myler’s assistant at UCD – and joins the Slaneysiders after a recent stint with the Leinster FAI Schools team also.

The UEFA Pro License student is hopeful that he can turn the club’s fortunes around as he last week following his appointment.

"The only targets I will be setting is that we see improvement,” Ryan told his club’s media team.

“I will be looking and demanding improvement individually and collectively. When we have that, we hope to start getting points on the board.

“Last night's performance (in Galway) should give the players some belief and it's the type of fight I will want to see from here on out."

BRAY WANDERERS

Gary Cronin takes his improving Bray Wanderers side to Ferrycarrig Park this evening as the Seagulls look to win their third game in a row.

They most recently earned a 3-0 win over Cabinteely at the Carlisle Grounds, with Richie O’Farrell getting his name on the scoresheet.

“It was huge because I don’t think we’ve been getting that bit of luck or those drops of a ball. This week though, I think we got what we deserved against Cabinteely,” O’Farrell told his club’s media team after last week’s win over Cabo.

“We won it in the first half really, knocked it around well and did the business. In the second half, we were solid apart from a few spells.”

The former UCD midfielder added: “We’re just looking to the next one and take it game by game and we can’t look too far ahead.

“It’s still early days so we’ll try and build on what we’ve done.”
