TREATY UNITED

Treaty United face another tough challenge when they host Shelbourne at Jackman Park on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 2pm).

Niall Connolly’s side are still without a win after their first five games of the season although they will take some heart from the performance they put in last week against WNL Champions Peamount United.

Although they would have been expected by many to be easily swept aside by Peamount, both sides had their chances throughout and it took the Champions until the 51st minute to break the deadlock when Sadbh Doyle scored a great long range effort.

Goals from Aine O’Gorman and Eleanor Ryan-Doyle followed to give Treaty their fourth loss of the season.

With Shelbourne looking to be in the mix at the top of the table this will be another stern test for Connolly’s young side, and it may be too early for them to get that first win this weekend.

If the Limerick side can keep improving bit by bit however, that first three points will be earned sooner rather than later.

The injury list is still quite high for Niall Connolly’s side with Clodagh Doherty, Gillian Keenan, Anna Shanagher, Alana Roddy, Lauren Keane, Emma Costelloe and Aoife Cronin all sidelined.

Anna Shine and Laura Shine are both still unavailable due to Leaving Certificate commitments.

SHELBOURNE

The Reds got back to winning ways last weekend when they faced DLR Waves at Tolka Park.

Noel King’s side ran out 2-1 winners in a North Dublin versus South Dublin clash.

Emily Whelan and Noelle Murray put Shels 2-0 up before a Carla McManus goal gave the home side a bit of a scare late on.

Shelbourne held out for their third win of the season and they will be looking for their fourth this Saturday to keep the pressure on Peamount at the top of the table.

There is even a small chance they could emerge from the weekend on top of the table, at least on goal difference but that would require both Wexford and Peamount losing their games this weekend.

The Reds are still without the services of Chloe Mustaki and Rebecca as the pair continue their recoveries from long term injuries.

Alex Kavanagh is expected to be sidelined for a number a spell with a knee injury.

MATCH STATS

Depending on how results go elsewhere, the Reds could sneak into first place in the WNL at least on goal difference.

Emily Whelan is top of the assists chart for the season so far, she is equal to Bohemians’ Chloe Darby on three each.

Treaty Untied are looking for their first win of the season.

BETTING

Treaty United 14/1; Draw 10/1; Shelbourne 1/33.
