WATERFORD

Kevin Sheedy’s Waterford will be looking to build on their first win of the season last weekend at home to Longford when they welcome Dundalk to the RSC on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Blues pounced on a Joe Gorman mistake from Longford last weekend as Prince Mutswunguma grabbed the winner.

However, they did have to play most of the game with ten-men, as Kyle Ferguson was dismissed with half an hour of the game to play.

But that did not deter the Blues who eased to victory over a dismal Longford.

Saying that, Dundalk will be a different test for Waterford, and they are likely to have a number of players out missing for the game.

Daryl Murphy, Isaac Tshipamba, Eric Molloy and Cian Kavanagh are all injured, while Oscar Brennan is expected to miss out again.

Shane Griffin is a doubt and Kyle Ferguson is also suspended.

DUNDALK

After picking up their first win of the season, Dundalk will be hoping to secure their second win on the spin when they take on Waterford at the RSC.

The Lilywhites lost upon their last visit to the South-East – and they will be looking to right that wrong on Friday evening.

“We have two big away games this weekend with Waterford up first and then Longford,” Dundalk interim boss Jim Magilton said.

“We want to build on the good result that we got against Drogheda last week.
“I know Kevin Sheedy and Mike Newell well. They will set up the team to win the match and we are expecting a tough game but we are focusing on ourselves, we are focusing on the positives and on building our confidence.”

Daniel Kelly returns to the squad after a spell on the sidelines, but Patrick Hoban and Sonni Nattestad are out while Brian Gartland remains a long-term absentee.

Referee: Derek Tomney.
