Republic of Ireland international Savannah McCarthy has re-signed with Galway WFC ahead of the upcoming Women’s National League season.

Chloe Moloney and Trish Fennelly have also been added to Billy Clery’s squad for the new season.

McCarthy joined Galway last year having spent the two previous seasons playing for Cork City.

The Kerry native began her career with DLR Waves before spending a first stint with Galway for the 2015/15 and 2015/16 WNL seasons.

She moved to Glasgow City in 2016 before returning to Ireland to play for The Rebels for the 2018 WNL season.

Moloney returns to Galway having first played for the club in 2015 before making the move to Peamount United in 2017.

The defender won two WNL titles as well as a League Cup during her time with the Dublin club.

Fennelly makes her return to the WNL after a season away having last played for Limerick during the 2019 season.

The goalkeeper has also played for Cork City, Peamount United and Kilkenny United.

Galway begin the new season at home to Cork City on Saturday (kick-off 2pm).
