Ireland squad selected for World Cup Qualifiers

Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny has named a 29-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Luxembourg, along with the friendly game against Qatar.

The Boys in Green take on Serbia in Belgrade in their first qualifier of the 2022 World Cup qualification campaign on Wednesday 24 March.

They follow that up with a qualifier against Luxembourg in the Aviva Stadium the following Saturday, before the friendly in Hungary against Qatar on Tuesday 30 March.

With Darren Randolph injured, Kenny has named four goalkeepers including Gavin Bazunu who has been included in the senior squad for the first time.

Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher will have his fitness assessed on Sunday, as will striker Aaron Connolly. Kenny named Troy Parrott in his squad for the first time.

The Ireland squad will meet up in Manchester on Sunday before travelling to Serbia on Monday afternoon.
