Cabinteely appoint Collie O'Neill as first-team coach as five more re-sign for new season

First Division Cabinteely have unveiled the appointment of Collie O’Neill as the club’s newly appointed first-team coach ahead of the 2021 season.

The former UCD boss takes over from the role of previous first-team coach Graham O’Hanlon who has left the club.

O’Neill left UCD towards the end of the 2019 season as the Students struggled for consistency during their first-year back to the top-flight after promotion in 2018.

While at the UCD Bowl, the Drogheda native steered his side to a First Division title in 2018 – seeing off Finn Harps to the title.

Meanwhile, Cabinteely have also confirmed five more re-signings as they continue their preparations for the 2021 season.

The Green and White’s have re-signed Zak O’Neill, Alex Aspil, Eoin Massey, Eoin McPhillips and Lloyd Buckley.

O’Neill, Aspil and Massey have all come through the club’s underage set-up in recent seasons.

Between Cabo’s homegrown trio, they have made 125 senior appearances for the club.

McPhillips and Buckley both joined the South Dubliners ahead of the 2020 season.

McPhillips – who joined from Drogheda – made two appearances for Cabo last term while Buckley made four appearances.
