First Division Wexford have unveiled the loan signings of Alex O’Hanlon and Kyle Robinson ahead of the 2021 season.

O’Hanlon joins the Slaneysiders on loan from Shelbourne while Robinson joins Brian O’Sullivan’s charges from St Patrick’s Athletic.

Former Liverpool youngster O’Hanlon played for St Kevin’s Boys at schoolboy level before making the move across the Irish Sea to Merseyside.

Since leaving Anfield, the 24-year-old has played for Glentoran, St Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne.

“Alex will give us experience and leadership which we have lacked certainly while I've been at the club,” O’Sullivan told Wexford’s media team.

“He can play left back or centre midfield and is a very solid player with a great left foot. He is an excellent addition to the squad and I'm looking forward to working with him.

“Hopefully we can get the best out of him while he is with us."

Forward Robinson also joins the Ferrycarrig Park outfit just a couple of weeks after he inked his first professional contract with his parent club St Pat’s.

The 18-year-old striker has won SSE Airtricity National League titles with the Saints at under-17 and under-19 level.

Wexford boss O'Sullivan added: “Kyle is a young physical lad who scores goals. Hopefully he can replicate what he has been doing at underage to senior level for us.

“However I think we need to be patient with him and help him in his development. We felt that with Jack Doherty and Success Edogun the only recognised centre forwards we had, we needed to add to that area particularly if we want to play two up top at any stage.

“It adds extra competition in the squad which can only be a good thing for everyone.”
