Niall McGinley has returned to Finn Harps ahead of the 2021 League of Ireland Premier Division season.

McGinley spent the previous year in the Irish League with Dungannon Swifts and Dergview.

The 20 year old came through the underage ranks at the Donegal club before making his first team debut in 2018 in a 1-0 victory over Galway United in Finn Park.

He made 14 first team appearances for Harps before departing after the 2019 season.

“I’m delighted to be back, and looking forward to working with Ollie and Paul again,” McGinley said, speaking to the club’s media team.

“I’m hoping to have a strong season and for us to build on how the team finished last year.”

Harps' manager Ollie Horgan is pleased that the player has returned to the club.

“Myself and Paul are happy to be welcoming Niall back into the squad,” Horgan told the club’s website.

“We know he’s a hard worker, and he showed that to us at a young age, coming through the under-17 and under-19 squads and into the first team, and we expect more of the same work ethic from him over the coming year.”

Finn Harps begin their Premier Division campaign at home to Bohemians on Friday, March 19th (kick-off 8pm).
