Cobh Ramblers promote under-19 trio to first-team set-up ahead of the 2021 season
First Division Cobh Ramblers have promoted under-19 trio Cathal Crowley, Gavin Ryan and Chris O’Reilly to the first-team ahead of the 2021 season.
All three players played an important role for the Rams under-19 side last term and they have all come through the club’s underage system.
Crowley joined the Rams in 2019 from Greenwood and quickly became a key member of their side.
The centre back captained the team in 2020 and made his first team debut in October, in a 4-0 win at Wexford.
Goalkeeper Ryan commits to the cause after playing second-fiddle to Cobh first-team keeper Sean Barron last year.
He joined Cobh initially in 2018 initially at under-15 level and featured for the clubs under-19 side last season.
The former College Corinthians schoolboy appeared in several first-team friendlies and is still eligible for under-19 level in 2021.
O’Reilly is the third under-19 to commit to the Cobh cause for 2021 after he impressed suitably last term with the first-team and under-19 side.
The winger made eight senior appearances in 2020. His first team debut came in September’s 1-0 victory away to Drogheda United.
