Teenager Ryan O'Kane signs three-year pro deal with Dundalk

17-year-old teenager Ryan O’Kane has signed a three-year professional contract with FAI Cup holders Dundalk ahead of the start of the 2021 season.

O’Kane had been training with the Lilywhites in recent weeks – and impressed suitably to earn himself a contract with the club.

The Dundalk native has played with Warrenpoint Town in the Northern Irish top-flight – making his senior debut under current Dundalk academy director Stephen McDonnell at the age of 15.

He made two more first team appearances for the Point’s first team and a brief spell at Cliftonville followed before his returning to Dundalk.

“Ryan is an outstanding young player, and we are delighted to secure his signature for the next three years,” Dundalk sporting director Jim Magilton told his club’s media team.

“He has benefited greatly from being with our first team squad during pre-season and he will continue to develop and mature under the guidance of all our coaching staff at the club.”
