Reading have confirmed that goalkeeper Grace Moloney has penned a new contract at the Royals until June 2023.

Moloney has been at the club since she was nine-years-old and has played all 15 Women's Super League matches for Kelly Chambers' side this season as they sit sixth in the table.

The keeper made her first competitive start for the Republic of Ireland against Germany last December at Tallaght Stadium.

The 27-year-old was born in Slough near Reading and qualifies for the Republic of Ireland through her grandparents.

She is first choice at Reading but has also spent a season out on loan to Aston Villa in 2016.

On signing her new deal the stopper said "I'm looking forward to continuing my journey here. This season I feel we're picking up some impressive results against some big teams."

Her manager siad the Reading "are delighted to extend Grace’s contract. She has always been a big part of the club and to keep her for another two years on top of how long she’s been here already, shows great loyalty from both sides, which is something that is very rare in the game.

“I believe this season Grace’s performances have been some of her best. She has been one of the very best keepers in the league what excites me is that she wants to get better so I know that we haven’t seen the best of her yet.”

Reading are next back in action against Bristol City on Sunday March 7 away at Twerton Park.
