Danske Bank Premiership Round-Up: Linfield and Larne held as Cliftonville ease to win over Warrenpoint

Both Linfield and Larne were held this evening in the Northern Irish top-flight as Cliftonville strolled to a 3-0 win over Warrenpoint Town at Solitude.

Three games however did fall foul of the weather, with Glentoran v Ballymena United, Dungannon v Crusaders and Glenavon v Coleraine all being postponed.

Linfield were held by Carrick Rangers away from this evening after a Daniel Kelly equaliser in the 84th minute.

Shayne Lavery had given the Blues an early lead, but his goal was not enough as David Healy’s title-chasers were denied with six minutes of the ninety to play.

However, Linfield’s draw away to Carrick was not capitalised on by Larne who were also held by Portadown at Inver Park.

After falling behind in the 6th minute through Ben Guy’s close-range finish, Larne were 2-1 ahead by the 18th minute of the game.

Dylan Mottley-Henry equalised for Larne in the eighth minute of the game before Ronan Hale gave them the lead in the 19th minute.

However, Larne were unable to hold firm and they conceded an equaliser in the 89th minute as Lee Bonis headed home.

The result sees Larne remain five points behind Linfield in the league table.

Meanwhile, Cliftonville eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over Warrenpoint Town at Solitude.

Ryan Curran netted twice for the Reds while Paul O’Neill also got on the scoresheet.

Curran gave Cliftonville the lead after 24 minutes, before O’Neill doubled their advantage just before the hour mark.

Curran would then get his second of the evening in second-half injury time.
