Cliftonville swoop for Ireland under-19 international Barry Coffey as Daniel Kearns joins from Linfield

Danske Bank Premiership side Cliftonville have unveiled the signings of both Barry Coffey and Daniel Kearns ahead of the final few months of the 2020/21 season.

Coffey joins the Reds on loan from his parent club Celtic, while Kearns makes the crosstown switch to Solitude from Linfield.

19-year-old Co. Tipperary native Coffey links up with Cliftonville having played for the Bhoys’ under-17s and reserve teams in recent seasons.

Coffey joined Celtic from his schoolboy side Nenagh AFC in the summer of 2017.

Also making the move to Cliftonville is Daniel Kearns from arch-rivals Linfield.

The 29-year-old is formerly of Dundalk, Sligo Rovers and Limerick FC in the League of Ireland.

He has also played for West Ham, Peterborough United, York City, Rotherham and Chesterfield.

Both players will link up with the Belfast side after they drew one-one with Glenavon on Saturday afternoon.
