Wexford complete signing of Jack Larkin from Waterford

First Division Wexford have unveiled the signing of midfielder Jack Larkin ahead of the 2021 season.

The Slaneysiders had Larkin on loan at the club towards the end of the 2020 campaign, and they have signed him up fully ahead of next season.

The 20-year-old impressed with the Blues’ underage sides in recent years, playing at under-17 and under-19 level for the club.

He also captained Waterford to the Mark Farren Cup at under-17 level, while he was part of the Waterford under-19s in 2019 that won the League title.

Larkin made seven appearances for Wexford towards the end of the 2020 campaign, and he is hoping that he can push on after struggling with injuries in recent times.

“I really enjoyed my loan spell last year, all the people involved in the club were great with me, especially Brian O'Sullivan and Seanie,” Larkin said after signing for Wexford on a permanent basis.

“They all do great work behind the scenes.  I've had a really tough two years with injuries so to just get back out there and play was great.  I learned a lot and there's a great group of lads in this squad.”

He added: “I'm looking forward to just doing what I love and getting lots of minutes on the pitch.

“And hopefully plenty of goals and also getting some fans back in the ground during the year as football is nothing without them.”
