St Patrick’s Athletic skipper Ian Bermingham joins Leinster Senior League side Collinstown as Senior Head Coach

Leinster Senior League side Collinstown have appointed Ian Bermingham as the club’s new senior Head Coach.

The St Patrick’s Athletic skipper will join the club’s senior management team alongside Kevin Carroll and Brendan Oliver.

Collinstown reached the fourth round of the FAI Intermediate Cup last season, where they eventually bowed out of the tournament at the hands of St Mochta’s.

Mochta’s eventually won the tournament after defeating Killester-Donnycarney in the final at Tallaght Stadium.

Most recently, Bermingham signed a new deal with the Athletic to keep him at the club ahead of the 2021 season as a player.

“I’m delighted to sign back,” Bermingham told the Saints’ media team after re-signing earlier this week. “I’m looking forward to working under the manager again.

“It was exciting last year with the team. Obviously, we came up a little bit short, but I think in the circumstances of the season I think if we had of went the full season we would have got into Europe.

“But it wasn’t to be, and you have to deal with the cards you are dealt with and we’ll get on with it. The hunger is still there as it has been before.”
