UCD forward Yoyo Mahdy has confirmed that he has left UCD before the start of the 2021 campaign.
The 22-year-old spent the previous four seasons with the Students where he made 96 appearances for the club.
While at the UCD Bowl, Mahdy helped his teammates to a First Division title in 2018 and an FAI Cup semi-final during the same year.
He played under three managers at the club in Collie O’Neill, Maciej Tarnogrodzki and Andy Myler – scoring 29 goals in the process.
His most lethal year in front of goal came in the most recent 2020 campaign where he scored 16 goals in 18 games.
His goalscoring exploits earned him a place in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year and also a nomination for the PFAI First Division Player of the Year Award.
“Thanks for the memories UCD AFC, will miss playing for this club and can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for me over the last 4 years,” Mahdy said on Twitter this afternoon.
