Former Cherry Orchard schoolboy Corrie Ndaba joins Ayr United on loan from Ipswich

Highly rated Ipswich Town defender Corrie Ndaba has joined Scottish Championship outfit Ayr United on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old is the first January signing for the Honest Men who lie 6th in the Scottish Championship.

Ndaba signs having impressed at parent club Ipswich Town in his four appearances this season as well as pre-season friendlies against West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dubliner began his career with Cherry Orchard before being picked up by Ipswich in 2016. He is currently under contract with the Tractor Boys until 2022.

Speaking to the club’s media team Ayr manager Mark Kerr said: “With games coming thick and fast between now and the end of the season we need to make sure we have good defensive options.

“Corrie is a big, strong, athletic defender who is quick and good on the ball.”
