Dave Rooney steps down as Treaty United boss

Treaty United have confirmed that first-team boss Dave Rooney has stepped down as manager ahead of the 2021 season.

Rooney helped guide Treaty United to the FAI Cup semi-final where they would eventually lose to runners-up Cork City.

He took charge of the club ahead of their first season in the Women’s National League early last year.

While in charge, Rooney saw his side finish in eighth place in the league table, picking up nine points from 11 games.

“Treaty United would like to thank Dave Rooney for his commitment to the club this season,” a statement from Treaty read on Friday morning.

“We are very grateful for the tremendous effort and commitment which Dave showed to the club and players this year.

“Treaty United wish Dave Rooney the very best in the future of his football career.”
