Shane Griffin signs new Waterford deal for 2021

Premier Division side Waterford have confirmed that Shane Griffin has signed a new deal with the club ahead of the 2021 season.

Griffin won an under-19 league title with the Blues previously and has impressed with the club’s first-team since brought in. He has also had a loan spell at Wexford in the meantime.

The 20-year-old, who turns 21 on New Year’s Eve, made his Waterford debut under Alan Reynolds and has also played under John Sheridan and Fran Rockett since.

“I’m delighted to be back for this season,” Griffin told his club’s media team.

“I’ve heard some great things about the new management team so I’m hugely looking forward to trying to impress them and holding on to my place in the squad.

“By the looks of things, there could be serious competition for places so it’s certainly exciting. Just anxious to get in now and get training.”
