Waterford re-sign former Irish international Daryl Murphy for 2021 season

Premier Division outfit Waterford have confirmed the re-signing of ex-Irish international forward Daryl Murphy.

Murphy re-signs for the Blues after spending the second half of the 2020 campaign at the RSC under two different managers.

While at the club – Murphy was unable to help them secure European football for 2021 – as they lost on the final day of the season away to Finn Harps.

Despite that setback however, the ex-Ireland star is buoyant ahead of a new season under new management at the club.

“I’m delighted to be back for 2021,” Murphy told his club’s media team. “(There are) hugely exciting times for the club, with the appointments of Kevin Sheedy and Mike Newell, the club is making major strides forward this year.

“We went so close last year and it’s easy to be deflated but the way the club is working now this off-season is impressive.

“The new manager and his assistant are already looking at players both here in Ireland and across the water.

”I think the fans will really get behind us when they see how prepared we are for February.”
