The game, which was due to take place on Tuesday evening at Richmond Park, has been pushed back to a later date following a positive Covid-19 case in the Athletic’s camp.

The SSE Airtricity League Under-17 Shield Final between St Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 22nd December at Richmond Park, has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 case within the St Patrick’s Athletic Squad,” an FAI statement read this evening.

“An update on the fixture will be released in due course.”

Shelbourne topped their under-17 Shield Group on goal difference – pipping Cabinteely to the spot in the final at Richmond Park.

The Reds are managed by ex-Ireland international Damien Duff, while current Shels defender Luke Byrne is a coach with the side.
