Dundalk have confirmed a number of departures from their 2020 FAI Cup winning squad.

The club’s statement on Monday noted that “Dundalk Football Club would like to publicly thank a number of players who have left Oriel Park in recent weeks. Nathan Oduwa, Jimmy Corcoran, Sean Hoare, and Sean Gannon have all departed while Gary Rogers has retired.”

It is widely expected that John Mountney, who made close to 300 competitive appearances for the Lilywhites over nine seasons, will be joining up with Stephen O’Donnell’s St. Patrick’s Athletic           .

Dundalk confirmed that Mountney has “made the decision to move on to pastures new.”

Mountney, like Sean Gannon, had won five League of Ireland titles, three FAI Cups, and three League Cups, at Oriel Park but will be playing his football elsewhere in 2021.

Both Gannon and Hoare have joined 2020 League of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers.

It looks like there will be a completely new goalkeeping set up at Oriel Park next season following Rogers’ retirement, Jimmy Corcoran’s departure and Aaron McCarey noted as available on the PFAI transfer list. Goalkeeping coach Steve Williams has also left the club.

Brian Gartland, Dane Massey, Jordan Flores, Sean Murray, Michael Duffy and David McMillan are also all currently listed on the PFAI transfer list so it remains to be seen which players will re-sign with Dundalk.
