Athlone snap up former Cabinteely defender Jonny Carlin

First Division Athlone Town have unveiled the signing of defender Jonny Carlin ahead of the 2021 season.

During the 2020 season, Carlin asserted himself as one of the hottest defensive properties in the First Division with Cabinteely.

After a breakthrough 2019, Carlin pushed on to become one of the key men in Pat Devlin’s sides backline following the departure of Jack Tuite.

The 24-year-old Donegal native made 16 appearances for the Green and White’s as they ultimately missed out on another shot at the playoffs.

Carlin follows fellow Cabinteely teammate from 2020 Shane Barnes in joining Athlone for 2021.
