Longford Town snap up former Bohemians full-back Paddy Kirk

Premier Division Longford Town have unveiled the signing of former Bohemians full-back Paddy Kirk ahead of the 2021 season.

Kirk joins De Town after a six-year stint at Dalymount Park previously where he excelled at times under Keith Long.

The versatile full-back has three years of top-flight experience to his name, but he found game time limited in 2020 with Bohs.

Despite that, he did help the Gypsies on their way to a second placed league finish, but he will now swap the Red and Black of Bohs for the Red and Black of Longford for 2021.

“I'm really excited to get going with Longford,” Kirk told Longford’s media team. “After a good chat with Daire, I was really impressed with what he had to say.

“He spoke about the values of the club and what he expects from his players and this really appealed to me.

“The opportunity to play consistent games in the top division in Ireland is what everyone wants to do, so I'm delighted to be able to do that for Longford.

Town boss Daire Doyle added: “I'm delighted to get Paddy signed.

“He will be a fantastic addition to the team and will add a huge amount of quality, leadership and strength to the team so it's great to get the deal done.”

Kirk is Longford’s second new signing of the off-season after they confirmed the signature of Callum Thompson – also from Bohs – on Monday evening.
