Irish-qualified teenager John Joe Finn made his La Liga debut for Getafe as a substitute in a 3-0 defeat to Levante on Saturday.

Madrid-born Finn, who qualifies for Ireland and Cameroon as well as Spain, was introduced in place of Ángel Rodriguez with six minutes remaining.

Midfielder Finn was on the bench for the Madrid side’s 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao a week earlier but did not make an appearance.

The midfielder, whose father hails from Ballyhaunis in County Mayo, is yet to be represented at international level but is highly thought-of in Getafe.

17-year-old Finn, who is known as John Patrick on teamsheets, began his career at nine with the Real Madrid academy before moving to suburban club Getafe last year.

He's not the only Irishman on the books at Getafe - Clare's Ryan Nolan made the bench for their 0-0 draw with Eibar last month.
