Longford Town fend off 'stiff competition' to re-sign Dylan Grimes for 2021
Longford Town have confirmed that they have re-signed exciting attacking midfielder Dylan Grimes ahead of their top-flight return.
Grimes played a pivotal role in Longford Town’s play-off success last month – setting the winner in their 1-0 win over Shelbourne in the play-off final at Richmond Park.
He joined the club in 2019 from Sheriff YC after a stint away from the League of Ireland.
During his previous stint in the League of Ireland, the creative midfielder played for Shelbourne in the First Division.
“Dylan is a great lad,” Longford boss Daire Doyle told his club’s media team. “Other clubs wanted him, but it was always us that he was going to stick with.
“He's a great addition to the squad and it'll be a big season for him and the club.”
