Three FAI Cup quarter-final ties rescheduled due to international call-ups

The three remaining FAI Cup quarter-finals have been pushed back to Friday, November 20th as a result of international call-ups.

The ties between Sligo Rovers and Derry City, Bohemians and Dundalk and between Finn Harps and Shamrock Rovers had been due to take place on the weeking starting November 13th.

However all three games have fallen victim to positive news as international call-ups for senior and under-21 international squads will see several players unavailable.

Bohemians duo Danny Mandroiu and Danny Grant, as well as Dundalk’s Darragh Leahy, have been called up to Jim Crawford’s Ireland under-21s to face Iceland and Luxembourg next week.

Shamrock Rovers defender Liam Scales is also in the squad, while Jack Byrne will join up with Stephen Kenny’s senior squad for the UEFA Nations League games with Wales and Bulgaria.

The Northern Ireland under-21 squad has yet to be announced, but it is likely Eoin Toal, Nathan Gartside and Jake Dunwoody will be involved, while Sligo’s Ed McGinty is with Crawford’s side.

Athlone Town are the only side confirmed for the semi-finals, where they will host the winner of Bohs and Dundalk.

The winner of the tie between Finn Harps and holders Shamrock Rovers will at home to the victor of Sligo and Derry.
