Jason Knight and Ryan Manning earn first Ireland call-ups as Adam Idah returns to the squad

Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny has called up both Jason Knight and Ryan Manning to the Irish senior set-up for the first time.

Also called up is former Derry City forward Ronan Curtis and West Bromwich Albion defender Dara O’Shea.

Adam Idah also returns to the squad after an agreement was reached with the HSE, Norwich City and the FAI.

The five players have now joined the senior squad in Dublin ahead of their trip to Helsinki this week.

Alan Browne, Callum Robinson, John Egan and Callum O’Dowda have been removed from the Irish squad in light of the recent call-ups, while James McCarthy has also been left out as a result of injury.

The Boys in Green will be leaving for the Finnish capital on Tuesday.

The Republic of Ireland squad were tested for Covid-19 on Saturday evening – and the results are due tomorrow afternoon.
