UEFA Nations League Round-up: Grealish makes England debut in scoreless draw, France score win over Croatia in Paris and Ronaldo scores twice for Portugal

Former Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder Jack Grealish made his senior debut for the English national side this evening during their scoreless draw away to Denmark.

The Aston Villa star came on in the 76th minute for Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips but he was unable to help Gareth Southgate’s side to victory.

In the same group, Belgium came from a goal behind to see off Iceland by five goals to one in Brussels.

Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi scored twice as the Icelandic’s were no match for Roberto Martinez’s side.

World Cup holders France defeated Croatia 4-2 at the Stade de France. Croatia took the lead through defender Dejan Lovren before Antoine Griezmann levelled.

France took the lead before they were pegged back through Josip Brekalo’s goal – but they would secure the win in twelve second half minutes as both Dayot Upamecano and Olivier Giroud both scored in the 65th and 77th minute respectively.

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in Portugal’s two-nil win over Sweden - netting in both the first and second halves in Stockholm.

Elsewhere in League C there were wins for Azerbaijan and Montenegro who defeated Cyprus and Luxembourg respectively.

Armenia also saw off Estonia while Georgia and North Macedonia played out a one-all draw in Tbilisi.

And in the night’s sole League D game, San Marino were seen off by Lichtenstein by a scoreline of two goals to nil.
