Watch: Shane Duffy scores late header as Stephen Kenny era begins with a draw in Sofia
Captain on the night Shane Duffy scored a 93rd minute equaliser for the Republic of Ireland this evening in their UEFA Nations League game against Bulgaria.
The goal ensures that the Stephen Kenny era as Ireland boss begins with a draw rather than defeat at the Bulgarian National Stadium in Sofia.
Despite enjoying much of the play and possession, Stephen Kenny’s charges fell behind to the Bulgarians in the 57th minute.
Bozhidar Kraev found his way in between both Duffy and his defensive partner John Egan before slotting home past Darren Randolph.

However, at the death, Duffy made amends for his defensive mishap before the hour mark with a towering header in injury time.
The on-loan Celtic defender rose highest to meet Robbie Brady’s corner-kick and delivered a last-gasp equaliser for the Boys in Green.
