'It's easy to complain and be upset but there are people way worse off than me in this current situation' - Waterford's Sam Bone to miss rest of season through injury

Waterford defender Sam Bone has confirmed that he is to miss the rest of the 2020 Premier Division campaign with injury.

The former Shamrock Rovers star confirmed on his social media account this evening that he will require surgery on a recent injury.

“The pain and sadness writing this message is horrible,” Bone said on Twitter this evening.

“However, after meeting with a specialist in Cork, we have come to the conclusion that the best way for my injury to recover is to go down the route of surgery.

“The countless messages I have received since last Tuesday have been amazing and I’m so full of gratitude.”

He added: “It’s easy to complain and be upset but there are people way worse off than me in this current situation

“To my teammates and the people of Waterford, this season has been a crazy one and I’ve loved every minute of it.”

Bone joined the Blues initially in July 2019 and has since signed for the club on a permanent basis ahead of the 2020 campaign.
